Skilled Trades are STEM Careers

What are STEM jobs? STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. A STEM job is any occupation related to one or more of those areas. That means dozens, possibly hundreds of professions fall under the STEM umbrella. Defining a trade as an occupation that requires a particular set of mid- to high-level skills. A trade school job is any vocation that meets that definition, and you can train for at a vocational (trade) college or technical institute.         Many of the highest paying trades in America can be found after completing a short, skills-based program from a trade school. (Vocational school, community college, or technical institute) Some of the fastest-growing, most in-demand, and highest paying trade jobs are commonly the most satisfying. They often involve hands-on, mentally engaging tasks, leading to a great sense of pride, achievement, and confidence.

Almost all trade career options fall under STEM in one way or another! Skilled trade workers are in high demand. With an aging workforce and not enough skilled replacements.

Many trade career paths, need only an Associates degree or skilled certification to start working. Creating a faster pathway to a skilled workforce, and less student debt, gotta love that! Streamlined training for a trade that pays well in a sector like construction, repair and maintenance, health care, information technology, business, or the legal field. And the best trade school jobs are in fast-growing fields in which 5,000 or more positions are expected to open each year.
